Challenge
A hospital's aging generator failed to start during outages, and theatre and ICU circuits shared supply with non-critical loads — an unacceptable risk to patient safety.
02
Approach
We segregated the electrical installation into critical, essential, and non-essential load groups, then designed an N+1 backup architecture with automatic transfer and online UPS coverage for life-safety circuits.
03
Engineering Solution
A new standby generator with automatic transfer switching restores essential power in seconds, while online UPS units bridge theatres and ICU without a millisecond of interruption. A preventive maintenance contract keeps the system test-verified monthly.
Technical Scope
- Generator installation
- ATS configuration
- UPS systems
- Preventive maintenance
Results
Sub-10-second restoration of essential supply
Zero-break power to theatres and intensive care
Monthly black-start testing with logged results
24/7 emergency response cover in place
